I had first heard of NaPro when a junior doctor and part of the catholic medical association. When I was facing fertility issues many years later (my husband and I had been trying to conceive without success for over 2 years and I also suffered from insulin-dependent diabetes), it was something I looked into online. Initially we were quite hesitant to engage with NaPro medicine as being based in the UK it was a lot to travel to Galway for medical treatment, although we could have our fertility teacher appointments with a practitioner based in the UK by Skype. I felt the NaPro approach was quite different to the NHS and looked in more detail to establish the cause of our subfertility and did not launch into invasive treatments that we did not want. We were really delighted when after a few months of NaPro treatment I became pregnant. The pregnancy itself was uncomplicated and we had good support from the NaPro team. I would not hesitate to recommend NaPro to other couples facing fertility issues and wish it was available more widely on the NHS and there were more local NaPro doctors.
